OASL Monitoring Team Engages SWMA on Stool Land Revenue and Project Accountability

A monitoring team from the Office of the Administrator of Stool Lands and the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources visited the Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly on Thursday, 23 July 2026.

The team included officials from the OASL head office in Accra and the Western North Regional Office. The visit formed part of efforts to strengthen cooperation and improve the management of stool lands and related revenue within the Municipality.

The engagement focused on how stool land revenue received by the Assembly had been used to support development projects.

Officials also discussed challenges affecting the implementation of projects financed through the funds.

The monitoring team proposed that physical projects funded through stool land revenue should be clearly labelled. This would allow residents to identify the source of funding and improve public awareness, visibility and accountability.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Dominic Gyasi, and the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Fred B. Kpodo, expressed appreciation to the officials for the visit.

They stated that the Assembly remained committed to using stool land revenue for its intended development purposes and would continue applying subsequent allocations responsibly.

The Assembly also requested the timely disbursement of funds to support the planning and execution of capital projects across the Municipality.
